Doorstep Callers

Good afternoon Resident 

I'm sending this message following a report of suspicious doorstep callers in Scalby Village. Unfortunately, I don't know whether they have visited other villages in the area. 

Residents, who have been visited, have had a motor-home on their property. They have been approached by doorstep callers, trying to purchase the motor-homes, for cash, there and then. 

The doorstep callers have been described as being very pushy and not taking ‘no’ for an answer. We have also been told that a second visit was made by another caller. We believe that they are all together. The second caller has also been very pushy and questions as to why the resident didn't want to sell their vehicle. 

I am working alongside your local PCSO, Anna Wilkinson, who is also involved with the investigation. 

Our enquiries are ongoing in relation to identifying those involved, however in the meantime, I want to raise awareness to our community of these callers. If you do have a visit from these doorstep callers, please call us on 101. Please quote reference 12260055504. 

If you get aggressive or pushy doorstep callers and you feel intimidated, please close the door and call 999.
